On a late-night drive home, the light bulb moment came: itchysilk.

At the time I was a freelance journalist for mags such as Dazed n Confused, Vice magazine, Mixmag, Stamp The Wax, Blues and Soul (and more) but I yearned to create my own publication.

Unrestricted by norms, conventions and popular opinion, it had to be the home of

‘provocative, word, sound and image’

It needed to be a publication ready to tackle controversial and uncomfortable subjects in one breath, discuss the beauty of street photography in the next and then wax lyrical about some alternative track based on its merits rather than followers.
