Leicestershire born Murlo is a creative polymath: A dj (he did a stint with the legendary Boiler Rooms), music producer and an illustrator- it's an ever-agitated journey of creative discovery and exploration.
Club Coil represents his newest project and showcases the musical creativity from a producer who has been bringing his sound to the masses for a few years now. In those productive years, he has produced great projects like the 8-track Odyessey ep (released last year).
This latest ep released on the Mixpak label, is a 6-track affair bringing a fine mix of dance genres from the sombre, come ambient, come electro opener Coil, to sounds more akin to a bit of two-step garage with tracks like Moss and I Need featuring vocals from Dubliner, Gemma Dunleavy which starts with some rnb sensibilities.
With this project, Murlo steps into a new direction as it were with the music being half of the overall project. The other half will be seen in all its glory at Electrowerkz on June 20th with his debut Murlo AV show. Here Murlo's dark illustrations reminiscent of that graphic noir comic V For Vendetta and music from the recent project align on a sound and visual escapade that should be engrossing while stimulating.
